We’re rallying for the advancement of women in the sciences

While there are more women in scientific careers than ever before, the overall percentage of women in higher-ranking positions continues to lag behind that of women. As geophysicists, it pains us to see the statistics for women in our field. As of 2017, just 16% of geophysics faculty at four-year institutions are women [AGI]. We’re racing to get the word out that women can do anything they put their mind to, whether it’s competing in an off-road rally or being a fully-tenured professor (or both!).
